I joined the Katz lab in June 2005 as a post doc. I am studying the coding of tastants in the gustatory cortex of awake behaving rats on both the individual neuron and population levels. I completed my PhD in neuroscience at the University of Maryland, School of Medicine. My dissertation focused on coding mechanisms in the rodent whisker-somatosensory system. Prior to grad school, I was a software engineer for Lucent Technologies, and obtained my undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Wesleyan University, CT.
