Welcome! Welcome to our newly launched Brandeis Aviation Club website! We're very excited to continue our flying program in the spring 2010 semester and hope you will consider having the experience of a lifetime! You'll find plenty of information on this website about the opportunity to be AT THE CONTROLS of a single-engine airplane and to PILOT the aircraft alongside an FAA-Certified Flight Instructor (CFI). We know you'll love it! The Brandeis Aviation Club is a chartered, student-run club open to all Brandeis undergraduate students with an interest in flying, REGARDLESS of one's knowledge or experience. In fact, there are only a handful of students on campus holding a pilot's license, so our club is mainly geared to anyone wanting to have the time of their life! Join our Facebook group, where you can post any comments or questions, or hear about others' experiences. We'd love to have feedback so we can improve the club, so please send us your ideas! As Brandeis students, we are very fortunate to be located near Hanscom Field (KBED), which is an air-traffic-controlled airport located only 10 miles north of campus in Bedford, Mass. In addition, we are just over 10 miles west of Boston (15 miles from Logan International Airport [KBOS]), which provides for a great flying environment just a couple thousand feet above campus! Thanks to a wonderful partnership with the flight school, East Coast Aero Club, and their fantastic FAA-certified instructors, we were able to send over 70 students in the air last spring alone! We hope that with adequate funding, we will have equally successful semesters going forward. Our website is packed with everything you'll need to know before (and during) your flight, so please check it out and read through everything thoroughly. | Why join the Brandeis Aviation Club?Very few people on campus have ever been in a single engine plane before, let alone had the chance to actually pilot one. Thanks to funds allocated to us by the F-Board, we give you the opportunity to do just that! Thanks to this introductory flight, some students have made the commitment to pursue their Private Pilot License, which is fantastic! |

Sign Up and Agreement Form is now available!
While we regret having to charge students, this is unfortunately necessary so that more students can have this great opportunity. Each student is required to contribute $20 toward their flight, and Aviation Club will contribute the remaining $105 per flight (thanks to funding by F-Board). Each student will sit at the controls and fly the airplane with an FAA-Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) sitting beside them in a single-engine airplane, provided by East Coast Aero Club, Inc.You must fill out this form for yourself (found under the "Student Information" page of our website), which includes your agreement to pay the needed $20 (barring unforeseen circumstances). We look forward to a great semester of flying; thanks in advance ...
