BEMCo Gains Second Vehicle

The Brandeis Emergency Medical Corps obtained a second response vehicle, a 2006 Ford Taurus.  The vehicle is used by both supervisors to allow for quicker responses and more resources available to the campus in case of an emergency.  The car is equipped with graphics, strobe lights, an air horn, and multiple EMS bags.

BEMCo to Become Class V Ambulance!

The Brandeis Emergency Medical Corps has finally submitted the paperwork and after an inspection will be upgraded to Class V Ambulance in the State of Massachusetts. BEMCo will no longer be a Quick Response Service (QRS), but a certified Class V Ambulance subject to biannual inspections and other regulations imposed by the state.  The biggest change for the organization will be the implementation of BLS drugs including Albuterol, Aspirin, and Epinephrine auto-injectors.    All of BEMCo’s members will be certified and able to use each of these drugs by April.  This is an exciting step for BEMCo since we will now be able to further aid those suffering from certain ailments more effectively than we have in the past.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact BEMCo at bemco@brandeis.edu.

Congratulations BEMCo!
