Officer positions are for a length of two semesters, beginning with the spring semester. At the end of each fall semester the current officers will vote for a new President, who in turn will appoint new officers. The new officers should serve for at least two weeks in conjunction with the old officers, for training purposes. Officers may be removed from office by a vote of no confidence by the majority of the other officers. An additional vote will be cast according to the majority of the Members. In the event an officer is removed, he or she shall be replaced through the aforementioned processes, with the exception that the removed person is not eligible for nomination or appointment.

  4. Definition of a Member

Any Individual from the Brandeis Community can choose to be a member. To remain in good standing he or she must observe the responsibilities of membership, as follows: Members must attend three or more meetings per semester, or two meetings and one club sponsored event. Members are also responsible for subscribing to the club's e-mail list. Members who have graduated from Brandeis University are entitled to be designated as 'Special Forces' members if they attend two or more meetings or club related activities per semester.

  5. Nature and Frequency of Club Meetings

The President will call an administrative meeting no less than once a month to discuss club business. Members are welcome to attend, but are not required to do so. Officers are required to attend, or to notify the President in advance of their absence. If the president so chooses, these meetings may be conducted by electronic communication, e.g. e-mail. In such cases, a transcript of the meeting shall be made available to the public. It will be available until the next administrative meeting. The King will call member meetings no less frequently than twice a month. Announcements of member meetings will be given at least four days prior to the meeting. Announcements will typically be made to the member mailing list. Member meetings are optional to all individuals except the King.

  6. Method of adopting the constitution

The constitution will be adopted if two thirds of the members in attendance at the constitutional meeting so ratify it.

  7. Procedure to amend the constitution

An amendment can be proposed by the agreement of two or more officers, or by a simple majority of the current members in good standing. At the next administrative meeting the officers shall vote on the amendment, with all officers having one vote, and an additional vote being cast according to the majority vote of all members. Amendments shall pass on a two-thirds vote in favor. Any time the Membership is eligible to vote, they will be allocated a one week minimum response time, with a maximum to be determined by the President and King.

  8. Statement of non-exclusivity

The club shall be open to all individuals of the Student Body, Faculty, Staff, and Affiliates of Brandeis University. There will be zero toleration for discrimination on the basis of sex, race, religion, class, age, nationality, sexual preference, or physical disability.
