We'll start this out by mentioning that this summer (2004) Betty and I went to Denver to visit Helen, David and the grandchildren. We were also able to get to Boulder and have lunch with Barbara and Jim, then go to the nursing home to visit Shirley. I won't include the picture I took there, but here are a few photos of the Posner family---I shot them when and where I could.

We decided to stay in Denver rather than go up to Breckenridge, but wanted to see something of Colorado other than what we usually see. David recommended Garden of the Gods near Colorado Springs, so that's where we went. Beautiful rocks; we took some very unartistic pictures and, since Betty doesn't like to be photographed, I'm showing the rock with a very little Betty beside it, a view of the mountains including Pike's Peak, and the camel rock, with Betty in view.

Great, isn't it?
We haven't done much traveling since that trip. We went to New York for our usual anniversary/birthday celebration, saw "Otello", "Frogs", had dinner at Babbo, went to a poetry/dance jam at an art club in the Bowery, and saw La Rondine at the NY Opera. We saw that opera for a total of $31; we went on Saturday morning to get the student and senior tickets that go on sale occasionally at 10 AM, and we lucked out. We also managed to get a walk in Central Park into our itinerary; a beautiful day, and always a high point of our visits to the city. Here are some photos we took there:

We also went down to "ground zero", but I don't think I'll include the photos we took there.
I'm skipping a bit here, and leaving out my trip to Torino and Trieste in February/March (2005), as well as Betty's and my trip to New York in March shortly after my return from Italy. In April, though, we had a great trip that included the Grand Canyon, Sedona, AZ and Denver. The Grand Canyon is pretty much as most of us have seen it in the movies, on TV, and almost everywhere else, including as the backdrop to the memorable statement of John Kerry when he said that he'd vote for the Iraq resolution all over again, even with what he now knows. Oh, well, the Grand Canyon. But Sedona was something else again! The place is inspiring, with or without "vortices". I'll include some pictures from that part of the trip.

From Sedona we went to Denver, where we were able to have a seder with Helen and all of her family. It's the first time in quite some time that we had all three of those grandchildren with us for a seder, and it was good. We were also very glad to be in Denver on Helen's birthday. One of the reasons we stayed in Denver as long as we did was to see the play that Jessica had produced and was acting in: "Eleemosynary" is the name. It was a very professional production; in fact, the director and the other two actors in the cast were professionals. All in all a good visit. Here are a few pictures from that part of the trip.
