WELCOME

Hello scouty friends! Are you looking for fun service ideas with the Girl Scouts? You've come to the right place. Below we have included some local scouting opportunities. There is a table of contents to help you find what you are looking for, but first let us introduce you to the Campus Girl Scouts (CGS).

Campus Girl Scouts (CGS) is a nationwide movement of college women who participate in Girl Scouting. Some are continuing scouting while others are just discovering the opportunities of Girl Scouts. For the past couple years, Brandeis has been heavily involved in helping the Boston CGS run camping events with Patriot's Trail Girl Scout Council (PTGS). This year we are trying to provide more varied and more local opportunities to suit our location and busy schedules.

There are numerous opportunities for helping out, and we will email you when we find out about them! Some opportunities are for individuals and others are more for groups. What you want to do is up to you. Drop us an email (cgs@brandeis.edu) anytime if you have questions, ideas, or just want to chat :)

WALTHAM TROOPS

The Waltham Girl Scouts want our help! They are very FLEXIBLE, very EXCITED and have expressed interest in any kind of help. They understand that we are busy, and time committment is as small or as large as you want. Also, most leaders are willing to arrange transportation for you!

Some ideas to get you thinking:

*Be a second pair of hands at a troop meeting
*Teach a troop song, game, or skill
*Help a troop earn a badge
*Start your own troop
*Invite a troop to Brandeis for a field-trip
*Accompany a troop on their field-trip or campout
*Come to the Waltham Service Unit events

If this piques your interest, contact Tricia (tricia@brandeis.edu) to share your thoughts or get more information.

We will continue to be in contact with the Waltham troops, and will send you information about specific opportunities on an on-going basis.
