My area of research is geometric group theory, the study of groups through their actions on topological metric spaces.  Some of my favorite topics are groups of non-positive curvature (CAT(0) groups, hyperbolic and relatively hyperbolic groups), braid groups, Artin groups, Coxeter groups, and automorphism groups.
