I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Politics at Brandeis University.  My research and teaching focus is international relations, particularly international political economy and foreign economic policy.

My first book, Trading Blocs: States, Firms, and Regions in the World Economy, was published by the University of Michigan Press.  I have published journal articles in International Organization, World Trade Review, Business and Politics, and Review of International Political Economy.  Presently I am writing a book manuscript entitled Theater of Conflict: Commerce, Culture, and Competition in the Global Entertainment Industry.  I am also working on a research project that examines the politics of trade in the U.S. Congress.  Links to my publications and in-progress research appear on the "Research" page.

I teach introductory courses on International Relations (POL 15A) and International and Global Studies (IGS 10A) and upper-level courses on International Political Economy (POL 172B), U.S. Foreign Economic Policy (POL 173A), and the Globalization of the Trading System (POL 165A).  My courses satisfy major requirements in the Politics Department and the International and Global Studies (IGS) Program.  Links to my course syllabi appear in the "Courses" page.
