Stefan Timmermans is assistant professor of Sociology at Brandeis University. His research interests include medical technology, sociology of the body, qualitative research methods, and science and technology studies. His book Sudden Death and the Myth of CPR was published by Temple University Press (1999). He is currently working on an ethnographic study of forensic medicine and a book on evidence-based medicine and standardization (with Marc Berg).
