Purpose

The purpose of Contra Dancers is to promote contra dancing on and around the Brandeis campus.

The president is ultimately in charge of everything for the club, including but not limited to:
Vice President
The vice president is in charge of helping the president and being a liaison for the club if the president is unavailable for any reason.

Members

A member of Contra Dancers is defined as any currently enrolled Brandeis student who is subscribed to the Contra Dancers official mailing list, http://lists.brandeis.edu/wws/info/contradancers.

Officer Elections

All elections must be announced on the official mailing list at least 48 hours prior to the election.

Any current member may vote. Any current member who has attended at least 3 contra dance events, not necessarily with Brandeis Contra Dancers, may run for office.

All elections win by a simple majority of voters, including members who vote abstain but not members who aren't present or don't vote. If there is no majority, the top 2 candidates in the case of no tie or the top group of candidates in the case of a tie go on to another round of voting with the same rules as the first round. If a tie is unbreakable by continuing to subsequent rounds or if a majority is never reached, the options are:

As a last resort, acceptable methods of determining leadership include:
