Dessima Williams: I noticed that you were accompanied in your nomination process by another veteran politician who also is a woman. Was that meaningful to you?

Winnifred Strachan: Very meaningful, very meaningful. And she is... a bulwark. And she is very helping me to go into the field and to do the work that should be there. Herself and [???] and Gail. They are really my great support, apart from the great God.

DW: When she ran for office and when you ran for office in the past, neither of you had a woman to stand with you.

WS: So true.

DW: Now do you think the fact that you have each other and the public knows that, will that have any impact on mobilizing women to come to the polls?

WS: I certainly hope so, because we can see the effect already. As a matter of fact, we have a lot of women calling and in now saying, "I'll do so and so for you, I could be one of your agents in the voting stations," and I really think this is a great thing.
