Who we are
Brandeis IBS Investment Club is the largest student club at Brandeis
International Business School. Gathering together from more than 20
countries, we form a worldwide perspective to investing.
What we do
Our mission is to familiarize members with global investing, capitalize on
the rapid growth of emerging economies such as Brazil, Russia, India, and
China (BRICs), and promote a sense of community at Brandeis International
Business School.
To achieve our mission, we hold a variety of events including regular
meetings, presentations, field trips, guest speeches, career panels,
investment competitions, stock pitch challenges, and so on.
Since the inception in March 2004, our investment portfolio has outperformed
the benchmark and we have grown to a popular student organization at
Brandeis University.
What we believe
We appreciate the profound impact of globalization and international trade
on the ever-changing global economy. We firmly believe that eventually
people in all countries will gain from increasing exchange of products,
services, and information across the world. This trend is a great
opportunity for many developing economies who are increasingly engaged in
international trade.
What we envision
In our view, BRICs (Brazil, Russia, India, and China) are the most promising
emerging economies in the 21st century. The abundant natural resources in
Brazil and Russia, the large pool of highly educated English-speaking
engineers in India, the huge amount of skilled and low-cost labor in China,
along with the booming middle class in these four countries, will bring
about BRICs' emergence as major economic powerhouses by the end of 2040's.
