Akakura Mountain Shrine
Rituals
The New Year's Rite
The ritual year at Akakura begins with New Year's festivities at the shrine, including a performance of the demon-expelling setsubun rite, of bean tossing (see Immortal Wishes, p. 164). The date is determined according to the lunar calendar.
