Shrine Rituals The
Mountain Opening Ceremony (Yamabiraki) May 1st. (see
Immortal Wishes, pp. 94-103) As the entire congregation continues to sing the shrine hymn, "Saigi, Saigi" (Repentance, Repentance") everyone helps carry the rope up the final slope, as the beautiful upper reaches of the gorge come into view.
