The Hillel Theater Group (HTG), part of the Undergraduate Theatre Collective, is a student-run theater group that brings a variety of high quality theatrical productions to Brandeis University every year. Each Fall semester, HTG produces a straight play that is written by a Jewish playwright or that encompasses a Jewish theme. In the Spring semester, HTG produces an open cast musical, opening the world of theater to any and all people who are interested in becoming part of a fun and unique experience. Additionally, each year, HTG and Tympanium Euphorium produce a 24-hour musical. Involvement on any level at any time is a great way to meet many new people while doing what you love!
HTG was formed in 1987 in order to provide the campus with a production company that was open to all Brandeis students. In addition to making the Spring open cast musical, HTG eliminated rehearsals and performances on Shabbat and other Jewish religious holidays, increasing group access and participation.
Whether you are new to theater or a veteran, an actor or a painter, a producer or a director, or a singer or a dancer, HTG is there for you. All are encouraged to participate in any and all ways! We look forward to another fun and successful school year!
