Starbucks 21 century: Corporate Social Responsibility vs. Profitability
Brandeis IBS and Business Consulting Club are pleased to announce the 4th Annual Business Case Competition.
If you are interested in developing your analytical, teamwork, problem solving, and presentation skills, we encourage you to form a team and participate in the competition. Put yourself in the position of a strategy consultant to the American businessman and entrepreneur Howard Schultz, Founder and CEO of Starbucks Corporation, and challenge yourself to develop a strategy framework for developing sustainable strategy that brings together high profits and corporate social responsibility to maximize the value of Starbucks.
Teams of 4 Brandeis University graduate students are eligible to participate in the competition. A team leader should be nominated at the time of registration. To register for the case competition, please submit your team members’ names and contact email by 9 pm on February 15 2009, to Vera Bondarenko at verab@brandeis.edu, or sign up at IBS Student Services (Matt Rocker). Each team that signs up by the deadline is guaranteed a spot in the competition. In the past, students have found that choosing team members with diverse skill sets (strategy, marketing, finance, economics etc) is beneficial.
