Text: Ergodic Theory and Topological Dynamics of Group Actions on Homogeneous Spaces, by Bekka and Mayer, Cambridge Univ. Press 2000.

The idea of the course is to give a self-contained exposition of some recent progressin applying dynamics on homogeneous spaces to number theory. This is a relatively modern circle of ideas which does not require a lot of background and leads to many open questions. More details (PDF).

Homework assignments: 1) Ergodic Theory, 2) Groups, Measures and Lattices, 3) Diophantine Approximation in PDF format.

Have a great semester!
