**Title**: Counting integral solutions to polynomial equations

**Abstract**:
How many integral solutions can there be to a polynomial
equation *f(x,y) = 0*, if *x* and *y* are restricted to lie in a box of
side length *L*? This type of question has many applications
and is far from understood. I'll discuss some of the different approaches
to this question. No background necessary!
