**Speaker**: Dmitry Kleinbock

**Title**: Modified Schmidt Games and a conjecture of Margulis

**Abstract**: About 40 years ago, Wolfgang Schmidt introduced a
certain game played on a subset of a complete metric
space. Using this he defined the class of winning sets, which (like
residual sets or full measure sets) are closed under countable
intersections. I will discuss the original rules of the game, and then a
modification needed to prove that certain dynamically defined sets
intersect, which in particular settles a conjecture of Margulis made in
1990. Joint work with Barak Weiss.
