Title: Diophantine world inside affine subspaces
Abstract: you are going to witness an everyperson-seminar-type one-hour-long remake of a real 20 minute long talk given at the special session on "Number Theory, Holomorphic Dynamics, and Algebraic Dynamics" at a recent AMS meeting. The audience will be invited to imagine themselves squeezed inside a plane in a three dimensional space, or more generally, inside a proper affine subspace of a Euclidean space, and study approximation properties of generic points thereof. No background will be assumed and the talk should be accessible to everyone.
