Manginah generally performs at synagogues, Jewish community events, schools, and fundraising events, but performances are flexible and can be tailored to meet specific needs. Manginah certainly welcomes opportunities for different concert lengths and concert venues, as Manginah is looking to make your event or gathering a special one. Manginah’s Business Manager and Musical Director will work with you to customize the concert that best fits your community or schedule.
Bar/Bat Mitzvah Concerts are a wonderful way to bring Jewish music to your family’s celebration. Manginah has performed in synagogue sanctuaries and luncheons following services, as well as at special Saturday evening concert celebrations. Whenever possible, Manginah loves to rehearse and collaborate with the celebrant, allowing him or her to participate in the show. Friends and family are also encouraged to participate in the festivities.
Educational Workshop Performances for Hebrew and Jewish Day Schools allow children of all ages to experience the strength and diversity of the sounds of Jewish music. Manginah generally performs at day school assemblies or for specific music classes. During or following these performances, Manginah can conduct workshops with students, enabling them to perform with us in front of their peers and furthering their appreciation of Jewish music in a hands-on way.
Shabbat Concerts/Shabbatons allow the members of Manginah to spend an entire weekend with your group, conference or congregation. In this type of intimate weekend setting, Manginah can perform at different times of the day, share an evening of Havdallah with you, and lead singing workshops to teach some of its vast repertoire to members of your party. Members come from various backgrounds and, with their religious plurality, can enrich the overall experience of all participants.
