Islam and Arts
Salam all,
Sponsored by the International Center for Ethics, Justice, and Public Life:
You are all invited to the Castle, at CHUMS for the first MSA event of the year!
This Thursday, the 18th, we'll have several of the Brandeis Muslim students present their spiritual identity through their own form of the Arts, focusing on Photography and Spoken Word Poetry. The event will feature an exhibit of amazing art work from Wajida Syed (2012) and Hyder Kazmi (2012). Spoken Word Poetry performers will be Kaamila Mohamed (2011), Neda Eid (2011), and Azra Qizilbash (2009).
The event starts at 6:40PM and ends at 7:50PM. There will be the breaking of the fast with dates and milk at 6:49PM, Maghrib prayer, dinner will be served, and performances will begin at 7:20-25PM. The Photography will be placed around Chums during the whole event so the students and other guests may view them individually. Isha prayer and Taraweh will be held in the MSA suite afterwards.
Do NOT miss out on this special event!
