Former Ozerov Group Members

Jessica DeMott

Jessica DeMott (Brandeis Class of 2006) is a native of Long Island in New York.  She joined the Ozerov group in the Spring of 2005.  She advanced several loosely related research projects, primarily centered around the use of pincer ligands in the preparation of unusual main-group element hypercoordinate compounds.  In March of 2006, she was awarded a travel grant by the NESACS to support her travel to the ACS meeting in Atlanta.  In the Spring of 2006, after having been admitted to several top chemistry programs, she elected to join the Department of Chemistry at Stanford to pursue her Ph.D. degree.  In May of 2006 she graduated from Brandeis with a B.S. degree with highest honors and decided to continue doing research in the Ozerov group during the summer of 2006.  In August of 2006 she departed for a cross-country trek to Stanford where she joined the group of Prof. Yandulov.  Jessica received an honorable mention in the NSF Fellowship competition.
