a. The purpose of the Poker Club is to increase poker awareness and activity throughout the Brandeis community. This includes, but is not limited to holding poker tutorials, poker tournaments, poker games, and organizing trips to casinos.
a. A member shall be defined as anyone who attends one event per academic year and is subscribed to the list serve.
a. The Club officers will consist of the President and Tournament Director.
b. The duties of the President shall include:
i. Scheduling and conducting events excluding poker tournaments
ii. Maintaining a list of members
iii. Acting as the financial liaison for the club
c. The duties of the Tournament Director shall include:
i. Scheduling, publicizing, and conducting poker tournaments
ii. Serving as authority during poker tournaments
iii. Ensuring that winners receive their prizes
iv. Aiding the President in their duties
IV. Elections of Officers
a. Elections will take place within the last three weeks of spring semester
b. Officers will be elected by a simple majority. If a simple majority is not reached after one round of votes, a second round of voting will take place limited to the two candidates with the highest amount of votes in the first round.
a. Club meetings will be called at the discretion of the President
VI. Poker Tournaments
a. Poker tournaments shall be held at least once every calendar month and be open to anyone.
VII. Constitution and Amendments
a. The Constitution shall be adopted by a two-thirds vote of members
b. Amendments shall be adopted by a two-thirds vote of present members
VIII. Statement of Non-Exclusivity
a. The Poker Club is open to all members of the Brandeis Community. The Poker Club does not discriminate against members on the basis of sex, race, religion, age, sexual preference, class, age, nationality, or physical ability.
IX. Request to be chartered
a. The Poker Club is asking to be chartered.
