4th Annual Alumni Match

Registration is now open for the 2009 Alumni Match. The match and social will immediately follow a regularly scheduled match against Colby-Sawyer College on October 24th with kickoff at 1pm.

A $20 registration fee is requested for each attendee including non-alumni.

3rd Annual Alumni Game Registration Open

Registration is now open for the 3rd Annual Alumni Game of 2008. The date has been set for Saturday, October 18. We're looking forward to another huge turnout.

The Second Annual Alumni Game - We're Doing it Again

Registration is now open for the Second Annual Alumni Game of 2007. This year we're expecting over 50 alumni to return for the festivities. The day will follow a similar format to last years but with a few changes: game play will be in afternoon, the dinner will be a backyard barbecue and families are welcome, and the social will be better than last year's. The Great Alumni Game of 2006 ‐ A Huge Success!

An unusually warm and clear night greeted the 40-some-odd alumni as they assembled to watch the Brandeis Men play U. Mass Dartmouth in what was to kick off the Great Alumni Game of 2006, celebrating 20 years of rugby at Brandeis.

The current team played well against the division leaders, but fell short 14 ‐ 36. This defeat, however, was nothing compared to the thrashing the current team would suffer against the alumni who won 80‐something ‐ 10.

Due to large numbers on both teams, the alumni game was played in a three 30 minute half format. Play began under the lights with fans cheering and a rousing performance of the National Anthem by the Brandeis Marching Band.

The Alumni quickly established a lead which they maintained for the rest of the game. The current team was outmatched by the alumni’s size, experience, and knowledge of the game.

The game was followed by a dinner reception in the Napoli Trophy Room and a good old-fashioned college rugby social held at our captain’s house, which cannot be discussed any further on this webpage.

All in all a fantastic time was had by all. As a result of popular demand, the alumni game will happen again next year, and it will be bigger and better. Those interested in attending should expect a formal announcement within the next couple of months.

Again, a very big thank you goes out to all of the alumni who made the Great Alumni Game of 2006 such a great success.
