Demos
Here are demonstrations of phenomena studied in our laboratory.
These demonstrations will enhance your appreciation of human perception and cognition. You'll discover for yourself how challenging perceptual and cognitive tasks are, and how fragile visual memory --including memory of what you have just seen-- can be. To view some of the demonstrations, your computer must have Adobe's Flash player installed. This player is a free download.
Currently available demonstrations:
- Visual memory --test your ability to recognize things that you've only just seen.
- NEW! We are studying how people learn to associate unfamiliar names and faces. View the faces and hear the names.
- Test your ability to imitate series of simple hand gestures.
- Visuomotor imitation --test your ability to reproduce abstract movement patterns you've just seen.
- Sample results from a study of visuomotor imitation. See how well other people did.
- Imitate Masha's gestures --test your ability to reproduce complex gestures made by a realistic animated human.
