Advanced Macroeconomics II (Ph.D Course) The course serves
as an advanced introduction the modern macroeconomic analysis of business
cycles, monetary policy and asset pricing. Topic covered include, real business
cycle theory, New-Keynesian theory, finance and macroeconomics e.g. :
consumption capital asset pricing model, equity premium puzzle, and models of
unemployment fluctuations.
Econ 171a
Financial Economics This course serves as an introduction to modern
financial economics. Topics we will cover include: pricing of fixed income
securities, equity evaluation, portfolio choice and options.
Econ 82b
Macroeconomic Theory (Intermediate Macroeconomics) The course serves as an
introduction to the concepts and measurements of economic aggregates, such as:
national income, consumption, investment, and economy-wide variables such as
interest rates, exchange rates, inflation, and the unemployment rate. We will
model the determinates of these variables and study the effect of fiscal and
monetary policies on these aggregates.
