Stephen Lyman's work is some of the most inspiring artwork I've ever seen. That's a painting folks, not a photograph.

This is "Embers At Dawn." I had the opportunity to buy the framed original in his dad's shop in Lewiston, Idaho, but turned it down, worrying about the price. I have regretted that decision for the last thirteen years. If I ever find it again, I'm buying it.

Hey, check out my blog.

We bought a 1925 home in need of a tremendous amount of work, and moved in February 2008. See our progress.

I'm back home in the spectacular Pacific Northwest after three years in New England, where I earned both my Bachelor and Master degree in Cultural Anthropology at Brandeis University, and specialized in International Mediation with a minor in Peace, Conflict, and Coexistence Studies. Though I'm a native to the region, I'm new to the city of Portland, Oregon, and having a delightful time discovering this place.

Please poke around here and see if you can find anything interesting.
