First Day Of War
Plans (as of February

For the day that war
officially breaks out with Iraq, United We Stand has the following plan of action:
Scheduling
We will implement our plan the day after war starts (i.e. if war starts between
12:01am and 11:59pm on Monday, we will implement our plan on Tuesday). Mira will be
responsible for contacing everyone to let them know when & where & what. E-mail Mira to say whether you would like to get special
notification by phone. There will be a general announcement to the mailing list as soon as
we know what is going on. We may also hold an emergency planning meeting the night before.
All Day
Go to class! Study for America! Don't let Saddam cheat you out of a good
education!
9AM - 5PM
We will have an information/support table in Usdan upper lobby. We want to have two people
scheduled for all of the time slots. Slots that still need a second person are
highlighted in yellow. E-mail Mira to pledge
to sit at the table at a particular time slot. Keep in mind, though the schedule
lists plans for the full week, we will have the all day table for only one
day. Even if you will be sitting next to us at the table doing homework, your support will
make a big difference. If you don't want to make a commitment, please stop by
whenever you can, for as long as you can, and as often as you can!

Materials at the table:
- Yellow ribbons & red
white blue ribbons (mostly ready - we work on this during meetings, plus if anyone has any
spare time during the week, contact Mira or Josh for materials
- Large sign saying
"UNITED WE STAND" (done)
- Iraqi fact sheet (In
progress - Tobias is taking care of this)
- Petition in support of war
(In progress - Mira is taking care of this)
- Petition to get United We
Stand chartered (In progress - Mira is taking care of this)
- Large US flag (Lenard will
bring one)
- Set up writing letters of
support to soldiers (no arrangements have been made for this yet - this is something
United We Stand plans to do eventually and if we get it organized in time we will include
it at the table, at the moment it looks unlikely).

Evening - get together
and watch news
It would be nice if we could plan to get together on that day and just eat dinner (bring
your own), watch the news, and talk about what is going on. It should be in a somewhat
secluded area so that we can eat in peace and not get protested, but still open to others
who are not necessarily in the club. We would need to find a place and way to reserve it
and a way to announce it. Nobody is actively looking into this yet.
