The text for this course is Daniel A. Farber et al, Constitutional Law, 3rd edition. Order your text here.or Order directly from the publisher.
Although the course is large every attempt will be made to include student case analysis as part of each class session. Review carefully how to brief a case.
Class participation will be important and will be taken into account to give students who have a good participation record the benefit of the doubt if there is any in the final grade. I will ask students to discuss for each case the points you have briefed. The focus for discussion will be the case facts, rule of law, and reasoning of the Justices.
A mid-term and final examination will account for roughly 30 and 70 percent of your final grade respectively.
This syllabus is an overview of the course. Click on the above linked assignments webpage for each class session.
